Demolition
ASB also renders service in the field of Demolition like demolition of old buildings, concrete structure, multi-storey buildings, commercial buildings, etc.
Demolition is a process of tearing down a building either manually or mechanically using large hydraulic equipment, elevated work platforms, cranes, excavators, bulldozers or even using a large wrecking ball. Wrecking balls are especially effective against masonry structures.
Steps involved in demolition process are
- Removing hazardous or regulated material.
- Obtaining necessary permissions and providing notifications
- Disconnecting utilities and rodent baiting.
- Finally work plan and safety.
On the other hand demolition is different from deconstruction. In deconstruction essentials materials and useful utensils are removed for reuse and recycle and the primary goal is to minimize the amount of materials going to the landfills.
Some of the projects completed by ASB infrasrtucture are
1) Demolition Of ANZ Grindlays Bank at Haddows Road
2) Demolition of two Storey Building at Kilpauk
3) Demolition of Building at Padi
Building implosion are also used to demolish Large buildings, Chimneys, increasing smaller structures using explosion.
High reach demolition excavators are more often used for tall buildings where explosive demolition is impossible. Shear excavators are used to dismantle steel structures and hydraulic hammers are often used for concrete structures. Explosion and high reach demolition is not practical and safe for Tall concrete buildings, so inside out method is used, where small excavators demolish the buildiing from the inside, while maintaining the outer walls of the building as a scaffolding, as each floor is demolished.
